Here are some additional photos related to this work:
Here is the initial workup for the painting in compressed charcoal.
I know that I am a little lame but often times I almost want to stop the painting at this point right here. There is something that I find very aesthetically pleasing about the work in the state that it is in here. It is very rough but you know exactly what the painting is about from looking at it and your brain gets to explore the idea to a great degree.
I decided to lay off the wine on this night and just have a brewski.
She is getting a little closer now but is still not there. I ended up having to rework the composition a bit and I was not happy with the background either so I decided to toy with it a bit. She also needed some work on her detail at this point.
Will I have one fish taco for lunch today or two? Honestly, I do not know that I am thinking when I take these pictures sometime. I am pretty sure that I call this pose the intellectual; either that or Massarati.
I actually like this photo; so I figure I would post this one since the last one is a bit embarrassing.
